Jan Monsen is a Scottish Painter who studied at Bath Academy & Cooper Union College of Art (New York).His work is in private & public collections throughout the world. During his time in America, he was heavily influenced by learning from artists who had direct contact of the Abstract Expressionist School of the 1950's & Andy Warhol's Pop art works of the 1960's.
Recent representational paintings have still direct resonance with his time in the USA.
For the past fifteen years, he has devoted his time on a series of representational work based on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus. These paintings were inspired by many visits plus his time working at the National Gallery (London).
